To celebrate the 80th anniversary of Cray Valley Radio Society, a special anniversary award is available to any licensed amateur or short wave listener (SWL) who contacts/hears the appropriate number of Cray Valley stations between 1 and 31 October 2026.

Anniversary Award Rules

80 points are required to qualify for the award. Points are awarded as follows:

UK stations

• Cray Valley RS special event callsign GB80CV counts 25 points

• Cray Valley club callsigns G3RCV (or GX3RCV), G1RCV (or GX1RCV), M8C and GB2RE count 10 points each

• Cray Valley member stations also count 5 points each

Non-UK stations

• Cray Valley special event callsign GB80CV counts 30 points
• Cray Valley club callsigns G3RCV (or GX3RCV), G1RCV (or GX1RCV), M8C and GB2RE count 10 points each
• Cray Valley member stations count 5 points each

Eligible Contacts

• Only one contact with each station is allowed.
• Any amateur band may be used. Bands may be mixed or all one band/mode.
• Modes eligible for the award are SSB, CW, AM and FM.
• Contacts made during Club Nets and activity periods count towards the award.
• SWLs can claim the award using the same points system.

Claiming the Award

Keep a log of your contacts with Cray Valley RS stations during the anniversary month of October. When you have accumulated at least 80 points, submit your log to claim the award. QSL cards and confirmations are not required to claim the award.

• If you keep an electronic log, please submit your log using the Award Checker below. You don’t have to wait until you know you have enough points before using the Award Checker; you can use it at any time to see your current score, and how close you are to the award threshold.

• Alternatively, please email the log (e.g. as a spreadsheet, or text document) to awardmanager@cvrs.org. The log should list the Callsigns of stations worked/heard, Date, Time (UTC), Band, Mode, and Reports exchanged.
• If you prefer, you can hand a paper log to Dav M0WDV at a club meeting. Please consider using the log sheet (which you can print out) at the bottom of this page. Click the Download PDF log sheet button (below), then print.

The award is an engraved plaque. The cost is:

• UK: £10, plus £4 p&p if not collecting in person
• Outside UK: £16 (worldwide shipping included)
