SUMMARY:SSB Field Day Contest and 2M Trophy Contest – 4-6 September
DESCRIPTION:We will be entering both these contests from the Crockenhill site used for the past couple of years. All are welcome to help set up and tear down\, operate\, or just to come and see what contesting is all about and have a cup of tea. Setup will start at 10am on Friday. Before the contest we will use the special callsign GB9RCV. Members are welcome to camp on-site. \nThe SSB contest starts at 2pmon Saturday. The 2m contest starts an hour later. For those members who are new to the club\, or who have not been able to get involved in the past\, the site is at Gosenhill Farm to the east of Crockenhill. The site NGR is TQ512671\, nearest postcode is BR8 8LB and what three words – bonds.decreased.shot. Coming east out of Crockenhill on Eynsford Road you will see a vertical wooden sign for Gosenhill Farm on the left\, but our site is on the RIGHT of the road\, i.e. the south side. There is a house sign ‘Cacketts Bank’ and there will also be CVRS signs. Follow the track round to the right and there is a parking area\, or if you want to drive to the top of the site go round to the left – there will be a route marked with road pins and hazard tape. \nAnyone able to help with set up and tear down or who would like to operate either the HF or VHF contest stations should contact Dave G4BUO – dave@g4buo.com to help with planning\, but all are welcome at any time..
